Changing Fazes, Inc. offers comprehensive community-based treatment programs that focus on individual growth and advancement. Each program emphasizes building character, individual respect, self-esteem, and self-assurance for those persons served and their families.

Intensive In-Home Counseling
Changing Fazes Youth and Family Services, Inc., provides intensive in-home counseling and case management services for at-risk youth, ages 5 to 18, who demonstrates a clinical necessity arising from a condition due to a mental, behavioral, or emotional illness that results in significant functional impairments in major life activities. The program is specifically designed to prevent an out-of-home placement or transition the client from their out-of home placement to their home.

Intensive In-Home counseling addresses the needs of families who may be emotionally disturbed, abused and neglected, substance abusing, sexually abused, delinquents or have serious behavior and/or academic problems. Services include, but are not limited to, individual and family counseling, parenting skills, independent living skills, crisis intervention and stabilization, and case management with community

agencies. Changing Fazes Youth and Family Services, Inc., is an approved provider for the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services, Commonwealth of Virginia Comprehensive Services Act, and the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice.

Outpatient Counseling
(Individual, Family, and Group)
Changing Fazes Youth and Family Services, Inc., provides individual and group outpatient counseling for children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing emotional or behavioral issues that are significantly impacting and limiting their quality of life to the point where it impedes personal functioning.

Therapeutic Mentoring
Changing Fazes Youth and Family Services, Inc.’s therapeutic mentoring program is designed to foster the development of appropriate socialization skills and provide structured cultural and recreational activities. The program offers a supportive relationship to clients and their families.

Mentors arrange appropriate activities that are consistent with the client’s behavior. Assistance is provided for finding employment and participating in structured recreational activities and relevant cultural events to develop and improve the client’s social skills.

Anger Management
Anger Management is an eight week group that provides psychoeducational counseling to help young people and their guardians develop internal control by enhancing their communication skills, coping skills, and conflict resolution skills.

Group members are introduced to the concept of anger and educated on the purpose and effects of anger in their daily lives. The emphasis during group discussions is placed on personal responsibility for actions and their consequences. Topic areas of discussion include: defining and normalizing anger, identifying triggers, coping strategies, stress management, and communication skills.

P.E.P. Talk
(Parents Empowered to Parent)
P.E.P. Talk is an eight week group, two hour session, multifaceted, skill building parenting curriculum intended to enhance communication skills, conflict resolution skills, parental roles, and assist parents in building relationships with their child, school personnel, community resources and court personnel.

P.E.P Talk will educate and empower parents to explore their feelings on being a parent, their parental role, and responsibilities associated with being a parent. Group participants will be taught using a variety of techniques such as role-playing, creative expression, and structured exercises to aid in discussions of real life situations related to their daily lives.

G.E.M
(Girls Empowered and Motivated)
G.E.M. is a twelve week group with a multi-faceted, violence prevention curriculum intended to enhance cognitive behavioral skills, curtail destructive behavior, and assist young women in reducing the negative impact of unhealthy relationships.

G.E.M. will educate and empower females to become contributing, proactive members of society by helping them realize there are alternatives to negative behaviors and they can overcome obstacles in positive and responsible ways. Topics address active listening and assertive statements, problem solving and decision making, managing anger, and conflict resolution.

Boys II Men
Boys II Men is a structured twelve week multi-faceted, violence prevention group formulated to educate young males to solve problems and resolve conflict without resorting to violence. The group is designed to assist young males with utilizing coping mechanisms that prevent defiant and destructive behavior. Boys II Men will educate and empower males to be contributing, proactive members of society by helping them to realize alternatives to negative behaviors and overcome obstacles in positive and responsible ways.
